Course description
  • Evernote Hands-On Training
  • By the end of this course you will know how to use Evernote to create notes, notebooks and stacks using your desktop or laptop. You will learn now to install Everntote on your iPad or iPhone and be able to access and read your notes on your iPad and iPhone. If you have another type of mobile device, you should be able to apply what you learn to those devices but please note that all demonstrations of mobile devices are limited to the iPad and iPhone.
  • You should have a desktop or laptop. You should know how to download and save files and install software on your operating system and be familiar with the basic features of your computer like how to create folders and files — how to right-click your mouse — basic stuff. I will be using the Chrome browser and I would recommend you should also be comfortable using Chrome or possibly Firefox — both of these browsers work nicely with Evernote. I recommend against using Internet Explorer as it is too different from Chrome and Firefox and will be difficult to follow the demonstration steps. I will be using a Mac for all demonstrations but I will point out any important differences between the Mac and Windows interfaces as well as important differences in features available if any exist. The differences between the Mac and Windows version of Evernote are mostly cosmetic so you should not have much trouble following the demonstrations. If you run into problems, just send me a message and I will help you. Having a mobile device will be helpful but not necessary to learning the basics of Evernote; however, do not use a mobile device as your primary tool for learning Evernote. The desktop/laptop versions of Evernote provide the full feature set we will be learning and all Evernote features are not available on mobile devices so I do not believe a mobile device is a good tool for learning Evernote as a beginner. This course is for beginners. The basics of accessing notes and information on the iPad and iPhone will be demonstrated so once you are familiar with Evernote on the desktop, making the transition to your mobile device of choice should not be difficult.
