The Skilled Photographer

You will learn intermediate composition skills such as the 3 types of Framing, the Rule of Thirds, the Diagonal Line, Repeating Lines and the “S” Curve. Not only will you learn what they are and how to use them but how they affect the viewer psychologically. You will learn the 5 light patterns in the Lighting section. How to create them, what they do to the subject physically and the viewer emotionally. In the Camera Functions section you will learn in detail what Depth of Field really is and how to use it to create amazing images. Also how to use lenses creatively using Depth of Field. Next you’ll learn how to White Balance so your photos have accurate color rendition. You’ll also learn how to use your camera’s light meter or hand held meter to get photos that are not too dark or too light but a perfect exposure. Lastly , you’ll learn how to use your flash correctly so it does not create bad shadows or red eye.

Students should have basic knowledge and understanding of f/stops, shutter speeds, ISO. Should also be familiar with the buttons and settings of their camera.
