Introduction To Clay Animation For Beginners

understand how to write a script and storyboard
know what things to consider when building a clay character
know how to create and find sound and audio for their animations
understand how to create an exposure sheet (aka dope sheet) to lip sync their characters
learn how to film their animations

To build a character and set, students will also need clay or plasticine, a tripod for your phone, cardboard, PVA glue, scissors, pen, paper. Optional extras include: Stamp/water sponge pad, Toothpicks, White beads and black enamel paint for eyes, Clay carving tools, Lamps.
Students will need a smartphone, with a stop motion app. Recommended apps are iMotion for iPhone and Motion for Android.
Students will need access to a computer, with free editing software. Windows Movie Maker for PC or iMovie for Mac both should be already on your computer. We’ll run through how to use this.
