What is 5S history. 5S is a core methodology to lean manufacturing which was first implemented in Toyota's Production System (TPS) in the 60s. This method aims to help factories achieve operational excellence and reduce waste consistently.
What is the full form of Kaizen. Kaizen is a compound of two Japanese words that together translate as "good change" or "improvement. " However, Kaizen has come to mean "continuous improvement" through its association with lean methodology and principles.
Kaizen has its origins in post-World War II Japanese quality circles. 5s involves 5 steps which involves sort,set in order,shine,standardize & sustain. 5S is a technique that results in a well-organized workplace complete with visual controls and order.
As the workplace begins to "speak", by linking people and processes, product begins to flow at the drumbeat of the Customer. The 5S's stand for 5 Japanese words that constitute good housekeeping. What is the function of each 5S.
