About This Course
It is now clear that bacterial resistance is a very serious problem these days. Bacteria is getting more and more virulent and develop their resistance mechanisms permanently what made even the most powerful antibiotics resistant to them and this led to increase mortality rates among patients allover the world. Mortality rates from resistant bacteria has become equal to mortality rates from cancer.
that why the world had to move and start to solve this serious problem specially there no more new antibiotics to manufacture. Therefore , the only solution was to reduce antibiotic use and use them in the right way stopping their abuse immediately. This is via the implementation of Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (AMSP) which we will talk about in the second part of the course.
But first you have to know the basics and understand them well. In this course you will learn the most important information about antibiotics classes with exploring an essential part which is microbiology basics including identification of bacteria and their types to help you understand more about antibiotics. Explanation of antibiotic classes in a simple , attractive manner , you will learn about all classes, their members, which type of bacteria that each class is active against, how each class works , the most important adverse effects of each class that you should take care from during treatment , and most common uses of each class when each class is used clinically.
