The course is designed to teach the import of the various management functions in an organization, elucidate on the superior functions of operations management, marketing and finance, and reveal the interface between operations management and other functions.

It provide students with a broad overview of supply chain management, elucidate on distinguishing features of supply chain for a manufacturing firm and that of a service provider, teach concepts of distribution, finished goods placement and selection of transportation mode. The course describes in details core skills of measuring supply-chain performance. The course teaches core concepts of inventory management, elucidate on the import of inventory management in organisations, and expose students to the techniques of using ABC analysis in identifying critical inventory items.
