3 Students get to learn what are steam tables and the different tables included in steam table copy 4 Students get to learn how to look for the properties like specific enthalpy specific volume and specific entropy from the steam tables both the saturation tables as well as superheated steam tables5 Students after getting familiar with steam tables get to learn to apply these for real life engineering problems like analysis of steam generator. They are introduced to the concept of boiler efficiency and get to know how to calculate boiler efficiency6 Students learn the thermal analysis of steam power plant and are introduced to Rankine thermodynamic cycle.
