About This Course

Hello, Welcome to my quantitative chemistry GCSE/IGCSE course. My name is Kat, and I completed my degree in Biochemistry at Imperial College London. After my degree, I have been both a scientist and a tutor.

Teaching has always been my passion, I have 7 years of tutoring experience as of now, I have helped many students achieved A*/ 9 in GCSE/iGCSE chemistry. The reason I want to make this course is that I found a lot of my students struggle with quantitative chemistry at this level, which hinders them from achieving the top grades. Over the years I have developed ways to train my students to be good at this topic and in chemistry overall, and I cannot wait to share my knowledge with you.

I love using analogy to make complex concepts simple. I understand that no one loves memorising a lot of things, so my job is to minimise the things that you have to memorise and really enhance your understanding of the topics. In this course we will go over the following concepts:These will be on screen:Relative Atomic Mass (Ar)Relative Formula Mass (Mr)MolesPercentage mass of an element in a compoundConservation of massGases volumeLimiting reactantReacting masses EquationsConcentrationAtom EconomyPercentage YieldFor each topic, I will go through the concepts and feed you with a lot of questions with various difficulty level and of course explain the answers to ensure that you fully grasp the concept.

At the end of the course, I have also compiled some exam questions, so you guys can get familiarised with them. If you are struggling with concepts such as moles or percentage yield anything like thatOr if you would like a refresher on the quantitative part of iGCSE/GCSE chemistry, this course will be for you. I cannot wait to teach you all the little tricks to help you achieve the best that you can.
