About This Course
Vastu (or Vastu Shastra) is an ancient Indian system of architecture and design that aims to harmonize buildings with natural forces. It integrates elements of nature-like sunlight, wind direction, and magnetic fields-with spatial geometry and traditional Hindu beliefs. Core Principles of Vastu:Five Elements (Pancha Bhootas):Earth (Bhumi) - site selection and orientation.
Water (Jal) - placement of water sources. Fire (Agni) - kitchen and heat-producing areas. Air (Vayu) - ventilation and airflow.
Space (Akasha) - open areas, height, and placement of rooms. Directions (Disha):Vastu emphasizes the significance of the eight cardinal and intercardinal directions, each governed by a specific deity and suitable for certain activities. For example:Northeast (Ishanya) - ideal for meditation rooms, water tanks.
Southeast (Agneya) - best for kitchens. Southwest (Nairutya) - master bedroom or heavy storage. Northwest (Vayavya) - guest rooms or air-related activity.
