dbt
Rather than moving data, dbt works on tables already loaded into the warehouse: each model is a SQL select, built in dependency order, tested against its results and documented with lineage. Analytics engineers run it on Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks and similar. dbt Core is open source; the commercial platform adds hosting and scheduling. It extracts and loads nothing, so ingestion needs another tool.
