Splunk
Security operations centres and IT operations teams use Splunk to collect machine data from across an estate, search it with its own query language, SPL, and build detections, dashboards and alerts on top. Splunk is now a Cisco company. Its search language rewards proper study, while cost grows with the volume of data ingested, so deciding what to collect is part of the craft.
