Basics of Tissues

"Foundation Biology" is an introductory course designed to provide students with a comprehensive overview of core biological concepts, including the fundamental principles of cell structure and function, genetics, evolution, ecology, and the diversity of life. Through lectures, laboratory exercises, and discussions, students will develop a strong foundation in scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and essential biological vocabulary, preparing them for further study in the life sciences. Key Learning objectives include understanding the concept of tissue as a group of similar cells performing a specific function, identifying the different types of plant tissues(Meristematic and Permanent) explaining the structure and functions of each tissue type, and recognizing the role of tissues in forming organs of the plant body AND animal tissues (epithelial, connective, muscular, and nervous), explaining the structure and functions of each tissue type, and recognizing the role of tissues in forming organs within the body.
