This course would be ideal for nursing students or those who have an interest in pursuing this career pathway. We will cover important areas involved in nursing such as: Roles and responsibilities, policies and procedures - the hierarchy of roles in the healthcare setting and the legal guideline and frameworks that will inform policies and procedures in your work setting, including 'duty of care'. Safeguarding - understanding, recognising and reporting safeguarding issues.
Health and safety - identifying and reporting health and safety issues through risk assessment, and providing a safe and hygienic work environment. Nutrition - providing nutritional care. Biological functions - the different biological systems you will work with and related disorders of these systems.
Providing personal care - personal healthcare plan and providing personal care such as feeding. Maintaining homeostasis (balance in the body) including checking temperature, blood pressure and glucose levels.
