We all have different fears, but the pattern of thinking behind Anxiety is the same for every single one of us. No matter what you are anxious about, all Anxiety follows this pattern:‘What if' is essentially fear of the future: projecting our mind into a future that doesn't exist and may never occur. The ‘What If' component has to do with the story that you make up in your mind.
"What if my car doesn't start or I get in an accident. " "What if my boyfriend dumps me. " "What if my boss fires me.
" This part creates at most a minor concern, until you add the other two elements. What if statements are not a bad thing when taken by themselves. They can serve as a safety net to keep us from taking unnecessary and harmful risks.
