Yoga helps us to become aware of our body. More body awareness, more awareness of our true self. The body is directly connected to our soul.
The body is the home of the spirit. We need movement as well as sleep. We have always been walkers and our body has an incredible performance in many environments, we can walk, run, crawl, climb, dance and many other movements, our body is an evolutionary jewel.
Yoga is the "yoke that joins the two oxen", the union of our body with our mind. The spirit expresses itself through our body, so the first step towards self-love is to love our body. By moving the body, by feeling the life in us, by feeling and letting our spirit express itself freely, we make our thoughts and emotions positive and fill us with light and energy.
Become one with your thoughts, emotions and soul. No separation. As my teacher says, yoga is 1% theory and 99% practice.
