Udemy now sells CompTIA and AWS exam vouchers: what the discount covers and where it does not apply

Udemy sells vouchers for 27 CompTIA and AWS exams below the issuers' list prices. The discount, the nine-month validity, the country rule and the retake option as published on 26 September 2026, and the exam pages that carry the link.

Udemy has added a voucher shop to its certification-prep pages. A voucher is the code redeemed when the exam is booked with the issuer; Udemy sells it below the issuer's list price. The conditions below are Udemy's, as published on 26 September 2026 in the German and the English version of the shop.

What is on offer

The shop lists 27 exams: 15 from CompTIA and 12 from AWS. Fifteen of them have an exam page on Getting Digital, and each of those pages now links to its voucher: the eight CompTIA papers (A+, Tech+, Network+, Security+, CySA+, PenTest+, Linux+, Cloud+) and six AWS exams (Cloud Practitioner, AI Practitioner, Solutions Architect Associate, Developer Associate, Data Engineer Associate, Solutions Architect Professional).

The shop's front page promises a saving of at least a tenth of the list price; the exam pages state a slightly larger one. The price shown is in the buyer's currency and depends on the buyer's country, so no voucher price appears on the exam pages: a figure that holds in Germany is wrong in Ireland or Kenya.

The conditions

  • Nine months. The voucher is valid for at least nine months from the day of purchase. An unused voucher expires, and Udemy does not reissue it.
  • Country of purchase only. A voucher bought in one country cannot be redeemed for a sitting booked in another. Anyone planning to sit the exam abroad, or about to move, buys it where the exam will be taken.
  • No refunds, no transfers. The voucher is bound to the buyer.
  • Retake insurance is a separate product. CompTIA vouchers can be bought with a retake option, and AWS sells a "Second Chance" variant. Both are listed on the Security+ and the AI Practitioner pages; for the other exams Udemy's FAQ describes the option without the exam page showing it.
  • Not every region. Udemy's FAQ states that the shop is not available everywhere. A page without a price means the buyer's region is not served.
  • Udemy credits work, coupons do not. The FAQ allows credits and rules out discount codes.

Microsoft exams

Udemy's announcement to partners names Microsoft alongside CompTIA and AWS. On 26 September 2026 the shop, in German and in English, listed no Microsoft exam, so no Microsoft exam page carries a voucher link.

Each of the fifteen exam pages has an "Exam voucher" step in its preparation section, after the issuer's free learning path, the courses and the practice test. The step states the conditions as published on 26 September 2026 and links to Udemy's page for that exam. The voucher links are affiliate links: a purchase through them may earn Getting Digital a commission at no extra cost to the buyer. The issuer's own learning path and booking links on the same pages carry no commission.
