Epic Games' engine powers visually ambitious games and, increasingly, film, architecture and automotive visualisation, with gameplay written in C++ or its visual scripting system, Blueprints. Large studios and technical artists form its core users. Its high-end rendering tempts beginners, yet for a small game it asks for stronger hardware and more engineering knowledge than Unity or Godot.
